Elena's Movie Review Madness

Reviews from my 11-year old mind!

What if one part of the composite subject is singular and the other part is plural? Anyone who uses a plural verb with a collective noun must be careful to be precise – and also coherent. This should not be done lightly. Here is the kind of erroneous phrase that we see and hear these days: the rules of subject-verb agreement apply to all personal pronouns except me and you who, although SINGULAIRE, require plural forms of verbs. 3. Compound themes that are bound by and are always plural. Verbs in contemporary form for third parties, s-subjects (him, them, them and all that these words can represent) have s-endings. Other verbs do not add s-endings. 4. Remember the indeterminate Pronoun EXCEPTIONS, which is dealt with in section 3.5, p.18: Some, Any, None, All and Most. The number of these subjects is influenced by a prepositionphrase between the subject and the verb. Note: The word dollar is a special case. When we talk about a money supply, we need a singular verb, but if we refer to the dollars themselves, a plural verb is necessary. Remember: here are constructions, search for the subject AFTER the verb and choose a singular or plural verb to agree with the subject.

RULE2: The subject number (singular or plural) is not changed by words (or expressions) that lie between the subject and the verb. Example: One of the fields is open. Here is the theme “one” and the verb “is” are both singulated. This manual gives you several guidelines to help your subjects and verbs to accept. However, the rules of agreement apply to the following helping verbs when used with a main protocol: is-are, were-were, has-have, do-do-do. Indeterminate pronouns can pose particular problems with the cremation agreement of subjects. They do NOT apply to other helping verbs, as they can, must, must, can, want, must. Don`t get confused by the word “students”; the subject is everyone and everyone is always singular Everyone is responsible.

2. If the different parts of the compound subject are by or even related, use the verb form (singular or plural) that corresponds to the subject close to the verb. The rest of this teaching unit examines the problems of agreement that may result from the placement of words in sentences. There are four main problems: prepositional sentences, clauses that start with who, this, or who, sentences that start here or there, and questions. How to match the subject and the verb: 1.Identify the subject of the sentence. 2.Decide whether the theme is singular or plural. 3.Finally, decide which form of verb corresponds to the subject. In the example above, the plural corresponds to the actors of the subject. 3. Group substitutions can be administered to plural forms to mean two or more units and thus take a plural verb. However, the plural verb is used when the focus is on the individuals in the group.
